Karnataka

Karnataka offers a vast area of rich cultural heritage, ancient temples, wildlife sanctuaries, waterfalls, cities, temples and beaches.  The people of Karnataka are very hospitable and welcome tourists with open hands.

Cities

Bangalore or Bengaluru as it is known today is the capital of Karnataka. Known as the Garden City, Bangalore is the IT hub of India and has centre of city gardens like Cubbon Park, Lalbagh etc.  Vidhan Soudha which houses the legislative assembly is a real epitome of fine architecture.  Bangalore has a fine shopping district in M G Road, KG circle and the Majestic.  The famous Viswesarayya Technological Museum is a place worth visiting.

Mysore is a fine royal city with majestic palaces and gardens. The famous Brindavan Gardens on the Krishna Raja Sagar Dam is a fine work of human endeavor and effort.

Mangalore is a fine coastal city in Karnataka with fine beaches, a harbor and several ancient temples. The Ullal Beach near Mangalore has several facilities including star accommodations.

Hubli is a fine town in Karnataka and has several places of interest to visit.

Waterfalls

Jog Falls is the most famous of waterfalls in Karnataka, followed by Sivasamudram. These falls have a multitude of tourists during the season and have all facilities nearby for stay and enjoyment.

Wildlife Sanctuaries

Nagarhole, Bandhipur, Dandeli etc are some of the well-preserved wildlife sanctuaries in Karnataka with a fine population of wild animals. BR Hills also offers facilities for trekking and hiking.

Hill stations

Coorg (Madikere), Chickmagalur, Kudajadri, Nandi Hills etc are fine hill stations in Karnataka offering fine cool climate and beautiful views.

Beaches

Ullal near Mangalore, is a fine beach and Karnataka has several beaches on the coastline like Udupi, Murudeshwar, Gokarna, Panambur etc.

Temples

Karnataka is full of ancient temples, reflecting the work, culture and art of the erstwhile Vijayanagara Empire. Hampi, Aihole, Udupi, Dharmasthala, Kollur, Dharwar, Sravanabelagola, Chamundi Hills, Mangalore Mangaladevi temple etc are temples with great history and fine architecture.
